He Is Willing

Matthew 8:2-3 – Behold, a leper came to him and worshipped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."  Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

This leper approached Jesus with faith – he believed that God could do something to help his situation.  And as a result he found that God did do something.

Faith discerns the will of God. When we have faith that something will happen, then we have found what God wants to do.  It doesn’t mean that we perceive how God will bring it about – sometimes the Lord fufills His word to us in ways that we didn’t expect.  But faith – that internal ‘knowing’ – is the key to unlocking what God wants to do next.

If we are lacking in faith – let’s not beat ourselves us – let’s ask God for it!  Just as the man with a demon-possessed son said ‘I want to believe – help me overcome my unbelief’.  If we persist until the Lord grants us faith, we will find the answer to our prayers and the will of God will open up like a bright path in front of us.
